Dear colleagues,
On behalf of the University of Caen Normandy and the UNICAEN Gaming Lab, I am pleased to invite you to take part in our Staff Week “Game-Based Learning and Ludopedagogy”, which will be held in Caen (France) from 15 to 19 June 2026.
This 30-hour immersive bootcamp, taught entirely in English (minimum level B2), is aimed at teaching and training staff who wish to integrate game-based learning and ludopedagogy into their practice: university teachers, educational developers, instructional designers, learning technologists, trainers in continuing education, and staff working in teaching and learning centres or similar structures.
Our first edition gathered 16 participants from 13 different nationalities, creating a truly international learning community and very rich exchanges of practice. We are eager to build on this experience and further strengthen the network around game-based learning.
Throughout the week, participants will
- explore different forms of game-based learning (playing, designing and analysing games),
- work towards six intended learning outcomes related to analysing trends in ludopedagogy, designing and implementing game-based activities, facilitating debriefings, and assessing the impact of game-based learning,
- experience a variety of formats: inputs, hands-on workshops, experience-sharing sessions, evening game sessions, and a transversal narrative game (The Call) that structures the whole bootcamp.
All practical information (programme, eligibility, funding, application procedure via Erasmus+ Staff Training, etc.) is available on the iMotion / Staff Mobility platform: http://staffmobility.eu/staffweek/game-based-learning-and-ludopedagogy
You will also find the detailed syllabus in the attached file below.
