Dear colleagues,
after a long pandemic-related delay, we are excited to finally be able to invite you to the second Europa-Universität Flensburg Staff Week, which will be hosted by the Language Center and take place from May 15 to 17, 2023. We hope you can join us and experience our campus and the local culture of Flensburg!
This three-day event is specifically designed for university language centre staff or those who work in an area related to language teaching, services, or support—for instance, language instruction, coaching, mentoring, translation, editing, advising, or policy development. Therefore, we would be grateful if you could please share this invitation with your language centre staff or colleagues within your university who would be interested in participating.
The leading topic of the Staff Week will be:
How can a language centre best provide its services in the context of an increasing multilingual study program offer?
Naturally, we are curious about your contributions as well, and invite you to either join as co-presenters in some of the workshops and presentations we have already planned or suggest an individual subtopic of your own topic that you would like to present or create a workshop for. In the attachment, you can find brief descriptions of the workshops, moderated discussions and presentations that we have planned. Please get back to us as soon as possible, about what you would like to contribute.
Within close distance to the centre of Flensburg, with its old seaport, waterfront promenade, and stunning historic architecture, the green campus of Europa-Universität Flensburg is situated at the border of Germany and Denmark. It offers an ideal setting for a relaxed discussion of language learning and communication in a mixed-language environment.
Perhaps you would like to extend your stay in Flensburg by a few days? The Rum Regatta (a sailing event that traditionally brings together over 100 gaff sailors) takes place in Flensburg´s harbour from May 18 to 21, 2023: Rumregatta.
