The Polish team once again triumphed in the Euroasmus and Friends CUP 2024 tournament, which was held for the 11th time at the pitch of the POSiR Rataje Centre (os. Piastowskie 106A) on Thursday, October 10.
The International Football Tournament, launched in 2012, eventually attracted six teams: Bangladesh, Spain, Lebanon, Palestine, Poland and Ukraine. It is worth noting that although there were six teams, the players came from a total of 14 countries, as some of them included representatives of other nationalities (according to the rules, at least four players had to be citizens of the country in question. Only 1 team could represent a specific country).

A total of 12 matches were played during the day, which initially ran
in two groups. The top four teams then progressed to the semi-finals before eventually facing each other in the matches for third place and the grand final. The final featured teams from Poland and Ukraine. After a 2 x 8-minute game and four goals scored, the red and white team finally lifted the cup for the best team, winning 4:1. In the fierce match for third place, facing the players of Spain and Palestine. In the battle for fifth place, Lebanon won against Bangladesh 6:1.

The EUROASMUS AND FRIENDS CUP has been extremely popular among the foreign academic community for years. Organised for the first time in 2012, on the occasion of the European Championships held in Poznań, still attracts many willing participants and shows that the legacy of UEFA Euro 2012 is still alive. The tournament also fulfils another function: it integrates students from all over the world studying
in Poznań and promotes the city through photo reports on social media.
